What Happens When Strangers Create Together

A social experiment turned short documentary. Over three days, I invited musicians, dancers, and street artists across New York to meet for the first time and make something — together.

What started as a loose idea became a study in connection, creativity, and what happens when you stop waiting for permission to make art.

Gaming in New York

Gaming in New York is a short documentary style video that captures the city’s hidden gaming culture. From retro arcades to gaming competitions, I follow players, friends, and strangers who bring energy, strategy, and community to every game.

The project combines candid interviews, on the move cinematography, and playful editing to showcase how gaming connects people across NYC.

Commercial & Corporate

"Move Different" — Concept Shoe Commercial

A creative experiment in visual branding and kinetic storytelling.

“Move Different” was my attempt to translate movement and self-expression into a short shoe commercial blending handheld motion, urban visuals, and sound design to match the product’s energy.

“Mothers and Daughters” — Interview

Mothers and Daughters is a short interview portrait filmed entirely outdoors, designed to feel intimate yet cinematic. Using professional video techniques, I framed each subject to highlight their connection, paired with violin music to enhance the emotional tone.

Elegant transitions and subtle visual effects were used to maintain a natural flow while elevating the overall aesthetic. The project demonstrates careful attention to composition, light, and sound, capturing authenticity in a polished, professional format.

Early Work

Destroying London City — Euro 2021 Final

Destroying London City captures the electric atmosphere of the 2021 Euro Final between England and Italy, a day when football pride turned the city into pure emotion. Filmed from the streets, the project follows the highs of anticipation, the chaos of celebration, and the silence that settled after England’s defeat.

Shot handheld to preserve the immediacy and intensity of the moment, the video highlights crowd energy, spontaneous reactions, and the visual poetry of collective heartbreak.

Filmed and edited by Jack Hernandez.

How to Thrive in London as a Broke 20-Year-Old

Set in the creative streets of Shoreditch, this video is a playful and resourceful guide to making the most of London on a tight budget.

From thrifting hidden gems to grabbing affordable eats and exploring the city’s vibrant energy, it captures the freedom and curiosity of being young, broke, and alive in one of the world’s most expensive cities. Shot with a street-documentary style, it balances authenticity and charm, showing that creativity, not money, is what truly fuels adventure.

Filmed and edited by Jack Hernandez.
